does seem a tad high, but tyres play a very important role in economy. Before I got the VR-X rims, I had stock 16's with Goodyear NCT3 tyres. On a run to Brisbane during mid December I got an incredible 6.9l/100km over the entire leg of the trip. Now with the Eagle F1 tyres the best I got with auto was 7.5 on the way to Melbourne in winter.

I go off the thingamajig in the centre console. I've compared it to the actual fuel consumption by using the trip meter and litres at the pump and the two figures are always pretty similar.

I always refuel in Gladstone, and then put ~38l of fuel in at Gympie, which is ~370km south of Gladstone. If the computer's out, it wouldn't be by much (<0.5l/100km).

I currently have Maxxis MA-Z1 tyres which I think would be in a similar league to your Eagle F1s.

Before that, on the factory 17s, I ran Good year Excellence - a very 'all round' tyre. Again, the best fuel consumption I got with them was 9.3l/100km.
